The New Testament Foundation of the Magisterium
Lecture Description
In this lecture we continue the Biblical foundation of the Magisterium by showing how Christ fulfills the Mosaic and Davidic authority structures of the Old Testament, and even exceeds them! We then demonstrate that Christ passed on his authority to the apostles, whom he commissioned to teach and govern the church. We make a distinction between Peter as head of the apostolic college, and the rest of the apostles as the body of the apostolic college. Lastly, we show how this apostolic authority endures in their successors, the apostles.
